About the Service

Wajang is a cloud-based screenwriting and production management platform based in the United Kingdom. The platform provides script editing, story planning, production management and digital document signing tools for writers and small production companies.

Access to the platform is provided via subscription or a free tier plan as described on our pricing page. Features available depend on your plan.

Your Account

You must be at least 13 years of age to create an account. By registering, you confirm that all information you provide is accurate and that you will keep it up to date.

You are responsible for maintaining the security of your password and for all activity that occurs under your account. Notify us immediately at contact@wajang.com if you suspect unauthorised access.

One person or entity may not maintain more than one free account. Corporate or institutional accounts must be registered under an authorised representative.

Ownership of Your Creative Work

By using the platform you grant Wajang a limited, non-exclusive, revocable technical licence solely to store and transmit your content for the purpose of providing the service to you. This licence does not permit us to use your content for any other purpose and terminates when you delete your content or close your account.

You are responsible for ensuring that any content you upload or create on Wajang does not infringe the intellectual property rights of any third party.

Acceptable Use

You agree not to use the platform to:

• Upload or create content that is unlawful, defamatory, harassing or that infringes third-party intellectual property rights
• Attempt to gain unauthorised access to any part of the platform or another user's account
• Use automated tools, scrapers or bots to access or extract platform data
• Resell, sublicense or redistribute access to the platform without written authorisation from Wajang
• Interfere with or disrupt the operation of the platform or its infrastructure
• Upload malicious code, malware or any content designed to harm other users or the platform

Wajang reserves the right to suspend or terminate accounts that breach these terms, without refund.

Subscriptions & Billing

Paid subscriptions are billed monthly or annually as selected at the time of purchase. All prices are shown in GBP and are exclusive of VAT where applicable. Payment is processed by Stripe; Wajang does not store card details.

Subscriptions renew automatically unless cancelled before the renewal date. You may cancel at any time from your account settings or by contacting contact@wajang.com. On cancellation, your subscription will remain active until the end of the current billing period.

Refunds: We offer a full refund if requested within 14 days of the initial subscription purchase, provided you have not made substantial use of paid features during that period. Requests should be sent to contact@wajang.com. Refunds are not available for renewals.

Wajang reserves the right to change subscription prices with 30 days' written notice to active subscribers. You may cancel without charge before any price change takes effect.

Digital Document Signing

Wajang's document signing feature allows users to generate production agreements and send secure signing links to third parties. You acknowledge that:

• Wajang provides the signing infrastructure only. We are not a party to any document signed through the platform and provide no legal advice on the documents generated.
• You are responsible for ensuring that the documents you generate and send are appropriate, accurate and legally valid for their intended purpose in your jurisdiction.
• Documents signed through Wajang carry an IP-verified audit trail which may assist in establishing the fact of signing, but Wajang does not warrant the legal enforceability of any specific document in any specific jurisdiction.
• Signed documents and their audit trails are stored and accessible only to the production owner. Wajang staff do not access signed document content except as required by a valid court order.

For documents with significant legal implications, we recommend you seek independent legal advice.

Intellectual Property

The Wajang platform, its design, code, trademarks, interface, documentation and all non-user-generated content are the intellectual property of Wajang and are protected by copyright and other applicable laws. Nothing in these terms grants you any rights in the Wajang platform itself beyond the limited licence to use it as a subscriber.

Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, Wajang's total liability for any claim arising out of or relating to these terms or the use of the platform shall not exceed the amount you paid to Wajang in the 12 months preceding the claim.

Wajang is not liable for any loss of creative work, data loss caused by circumstances outside our reasonable control, or indirect or consequential losses of any kind. We strongly recommend you maintain local backups of any scripts or content you consider irreplaceable.

Nothing in these terms excludes liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, fraud or any other liability that cannot be excluded under applicable law.

Termination

You may close your account at any time. On closure, your scripts and creative content will be deleted within 30 days in accordance with our Privacy Policy.

Wajang may suspend or terminate your account if you breach these terms, with notice where practicable. In the event of termination for breach, no refund of subscription fees will be provided.

Governing Law

These terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales. Any disputes arising from or related to these terms or your use of the platform shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of England and Wales.

Changes to These Terms

We may update these terms from time to time. We will notify you of material changes by email at least 14 days before they take effect. Continued use of the platform after that date constitutes acceptance of the updated terms. If you do not accept the updated terms, you may close your account before they take effect.
