WAJANGTHE ART OF THE STORY
Creator Studio forYouTube

A home for the work
behind every upload.

Wajang brings the less visible parts of running a channel together: developing ideas, keeping research in order, writing and planning the shoot, reviewing the edit and preparing the finished video for YouTube.

The work behind the upload

Planning a video rarely happens in one place.

An idea may begin in a phone note, the research in a browser, the script in a document and the edit discussion in messages. Wajang keeps those parts attached to the same video, so the thinking behind it is not lost as production moves on.

01

Ideas with some context

The backlog records the viewer question, possible format, series and priority, rather than saving little more than a working title.

02

The hook and the package

Early title and thumbnail thinking can sit beside the idea while there is still time for it to influence the video itself.

03

Research and source notes

Sources, factual claims, usage rights and checks remain beside the script. This is particularly useful for explainers, documentaries, reviews and video essays.

04

A workable production plan

Scripts can lead into shots, B-roll, locations, people, equipment and shoot days, whether the production involves one person or a small crew.

05

Edit review in context

Each cut has its own notes and review history. Comments can be left at the relevant frame and resolved before the next export is approved.

06

Release preparation

The approved video, metadata, thumbnail, playlist and final checks can be brought together before the upload is scheduled.

Titles and thumbnails

The packaging stays with the video.

Several title and thumbnail combinations can be developed beside the relevant cut. Once a pairing is approved, the selected version carries through to the release record.

Independent creators and small teams

Made for one person, with room for others.

For an independent creator, Wajang provides structure without requiring a production office. If an editor, researcher, producer or sponsor becomes involved, the same video record can also hold the handovers, notes and approvals.

1
INDEPENDENT CREATOR

The complete video record

Ideas, sources, script, shots and release preparation remain together.

2
CREATOR AND EDITOR

A clearer review process

Versioned cuts, frame-specific notes and an agreed final export.

SMALL CHANNEL TEAM

Defined responsibilities

Researchers, crew, sponsors and approvers can be given the access relevant to their work.

Across the channel

A clearer view of work in progress.

The calendar, recurring formats and production history remain useful after an individual video has been published.

CALENDAR

Content calendar

Videos in development, filming, editing, scheduled and published can be seen together.

SERIES

Recurring formats

Structures can be reused and performance compared across the videos in a series.

SPONSORS

Sponsor commitments

Deliverables, approvals and deadlines remain beside the video to which they apply.

PRODUCTION NOTES

What carries forward

Useful findings from a published video can inform the next idea or production decision.

YouTube Working alongside YouTube Studio

Wajang looks after the production around the upload.

It is not intended to reproduce YouTube Studio. Wajang holds the development and production record before publication and preserves it afterwards. A connected channel can receive the approved video, metadata, thumbnail, playlist and publication schedule from that record.
